What is Religion?
Religion is believing in something that gives us a reason for why we are here and what our purpose is, for Christians it is to do good and help people, and for others such as Hindus, it is to reach the ultimate state of Brahman and be at one with the Gods
themselves.
What is Hinduism?
Hinduism is a religion that is based in India and about 80% of the population is Hindu. Hinduism is not just a religion but a way of life. The religion is polytheistic meaning they believe in many Gods, but all the gods are related in a sense that they are all at the stage of Brahman. Hindu people believe in Karma, though it is not quite what out westernised meaning of the word is. To them, karma is that if you do good things in this life, then your next life you will be happier and be re-incarnated into a more superior life form and if you do bad things, you may be re-incarnated as a dog or an insect. The goal for Hindu people is to reach the ultimate state of Brahman, where you are at one with the Gods.
